Compression: ‘A progressive audiovisual piece based on the dread and fear around overpopulation and the manifestation of this reality for a younger population. Split into four sections across sound, image and video, the work communicates a continuous constriction of space, loss of tranquility and an undertone of malaise. As section three of the piece, the still images surround the room as a regal soundscape of violins and trumpets fill the space. The artist makes a light-hearted, absurd response to the theme and creates a still painterly style image characterising an imagined reality of living on top of each other as things deteriorate.’
